If you are in love with fashion, want to learn how to draw fashion sketches but do not have an art education or drawing experience, this course will help you get started and give you basic knowledge that you can further develop and deepen.
In this author’s course, I will introduce you to the basics of fashion illustration, share my knowledge, techniques and tricks, which I hope will help you on your learning path.
We will delve into the construction of the face – eyes, lips, nose, eyebrows, eyelashes. Let’s create a face chart, and then get acquainted with the features of constructing arms and legs, and move on to constructing a figure in the proportion of 10 heads.
We will also create our own templates for fashion figures – in motion, a static pose, a relaxed pose, learn how to depict clothes on a figure and draw together a woman’s suit and dresses.
Much attention in this course is paid to the construction of the face, so the course will also be of interest to those who want to learn how to draw beauty portraits.
My approach to illustration stems from my education. In 2014 I received a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the Latvian Academy of Arts. After working as a freelance fashion illustrator in New York, I returned to Latvia with a growing portfolio of work and collaborations with brands such as Valentino, Dior, Max Mara, Alberta Ferretti, Dom Perignon, Kempinski Hotel. Also, the prestigious publishing house Taschen included me in the list of 100 best illustrators.
